Good little B comedy from MGM. Short and sweet. Harlow excels here as a girl mistaken for, well, a gold digger. Barrymore is up to his usual stuff, but seems to just be going through the motions a bit. Then again, going through the motions for him is like acting gold for most. 3.5 stars, as its a fun film with solid performances all around.
Based on an original screenplay. Jean Harlow, a show girl, is sexy as hell but wants to stay "clean" until she gets married. Wow! What a program! I loved the scene when the girls change clothes at the beginning of the first party. The camera movements are very impressive here for a MGM movie. Who's responsible for these 60 seconds of sheer cinematographical delight? Sam Wood or Jack Conway? Highly recommended.
