Our take

A coming-of-age tale with a dash of Hamlet, The Goob charts a summer of agony and ecstasy in rural Norfolk, a part of England rarely depicted on screen, and certainly not as stylishly as this. Playing a violence-prone stock car racer, Sean Harris adds another memorable antagonist to his resume.
