  1. Adam Whybray's rating of the film The Good Soldier Schweik: From Hatvan to Halic

Knockabout and satiric comedy with some laugh-out-loud moments. Trnka's adaptation of Jaroslav Hašek's 'The Good Soldier Švejk' is easily the most dialogue-heavy of his works. As such, watching it with very limited Czech on a partially broken media file, it was a difficult viewing experience - however Švejk's amicable face made it all okay! Inevitably not pretty nor bucolic, but great caricatured character designs
