Highly stylized in comparison to H. G. Lewis' early works, to a degree that it evokes Mario Bava's giallo films with rich colors, sharp cinematography and jazz tunes. But constant nudity and evolved gore effects are here to keep it within pure grindhouse cinema. And while it doesn't offer anything more than expected, Frank Kress as a lead brings charm and uniqueness to keep it from being just a bland splatter film.
H.G.Lewis's last gore film before his retirement. Not as great as BLOOD FEAST but even more gruesome and this time some of the laughs are intentional. The carnage in this one is so over the top (and obviously fake) that it becomes something truly other. It can be hard (for some) to figure out what is the most appropriate response to it. Probably not a good date movie.
Good splatter movie.
