Ratings & Reviews

  1. EmiEmi's rating of the film The Guardian

This is so bad that Friedkin didn't even dare to wrote one line of this in his autobiography. True fact.

  2. Pymo's rating of the film The Guardian

  3. Fabio Nosotti's rating of the film The Guardian

  4. Jesse's rating of the film The Guardian

Although the premise of this Alan von Smithee movie is laughable (a tree, really?) there were some genuine scary moments that were undeniably William Friedkin.

  5. Sunrise's rating of the film The Guardian

Friedkin seems to struggle with how to effectively translate the male fear of a women's ability to procreate through metaphoric druid-tree-woman-spirit horror. The film finds feet half-way through the third reel when traditional elements of the "thriller" kick-in as Brad Hall observes the surrealistic workings of nature that man shouldn't see and must flee before he's found. Great early work for Matthew Mungle fans!

  6. curmudgeon pudding's rating of the film The Guardian

Sadly, this did not lead to a succession of films that the anti-forestry demographic could relate to.

  7. Westley's rating of the film The Guardian

Giant killer tree.... Gratuitous sex scene.... Giant killer tree participating in gratuitous sex scene... WTF?!

  8. Igor Leoni's rating of the film The Guardian

Friedkin is one of my favorite directors. WTF happened here? Just awful...shame on you Billy...
