Ratings & Reviews

  1. Richmond Hill's rating of the film The Hallelujah Handshake

A satisfying onion-skinned drama that belies a great deal more social scrutiny than the surface detail and neat exposition suggests.

  2. S Campbell's rating of the film The Hallelujah Handshake

Fantastic early Alan Clarke film from the much missed Play For Today strand now on DVD

  3. Ozu_Teapot's rating of the film The Hallelujah Handshake

  4. Samuel T.'s rating of the film The Hallelujah Handshake

I will continue to preach- sandwiched between Loach and Leigh is a burning ember named Clarke, setting every telly in the nation ablaze for 20 years, this time thrashing both religious institution and the judicial inability to recognize mental illness, not to mention social ignorance at large. Certainly a cinematic hero of Britain, exposing his own country's shit onto the dinner table with bountiful gravy.
