  2. FISCHER's rating of the film The Harvest

  3. redux's rating of the film The Harvest

There must be an extremely smart movie out there that profited from all the brain removed from this.

  4. Nick Schwab's rating of the film The Harvest

McNaughton's bland style certainly made Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer effectively disturbing due to its Cinéma vérité approach, but in The Harvest, it just feels like a Lifetime film. Other generic elements are evident in its syrupy music, sentimental drama, and the subdued shocks. Minimalism in both style and content certainly have their place, but when paired with slightness it just feels melodramatic.

  5. Diderot's rating of the film The Harvest

It's fine, but nothing special. Samantha Morton and Michael Shannon give good performances, but their characters are only minimally developed. Whatever interest this film has comes from those actors and not much else.

  6. Matt Reddick's rating of the film The Harvest

Not as bad as everyone else would lead me to believe. A heavyweight Lifetime movie, if that makes sense. "...follow your heart" lol

  7. Matthew Martens's rating of the film The Harvest

Hm. Received special attention in the current Film Comment's Home Movies section. Yet not good. A promising premise undone by multi-level dumbness and unsalvageable by performances either embarrassed or embarrassing. Peter Fonda seems to have been cast exclusively for the authenticity he brings to the task of repeating the words "far out" at randomly irrelevant moments. He does this well. He sounds sincere.

  8. Jack Hoehn's rating of the film The Harvest

  9. Manny Lage's rating of the film The Harvest

McNaughton's minimalist update of Les jeux sans visage is an extremely eerie, moody and fascinating look at modern medicine

  10. Mathias Palmberg's rating of the film The Harvest

One of the worst films I´ve seen in ages. Accomplished actors Morton and Shannon come off as sheer amateurs and are left drifting in a movie so atrocious it´s hard to believe. The young actors are bad but considering the dialogue and aimless direction from McNaughton they hardly can be singularly blamed. Even the photo and music is third rate and reeks of daytime TV. How this even got green lit is beyond me. Avoid!!!

  11. Igor Leoni's rating of the film The Harvest

Wow, looks like a crap TV version of 'Misery'. John McNaughton, what happened to you?

  12. MATTEO BITTANTI's rating of the film The Harvest

Misery meets Martyrs. But it lack the sheer cruelty of the latter and the high tension of the former. The baseball game as a narrative/framing device is so syrupy, it makes your teeth hurt. A missed opportunity.
