Ratings & Reviews

  1. Samuel Donath's rating of the film The Human Voice

A gem. This needs to be on DVD! Bergman gives a masterful performance. Not an easy script! Or concept! But it is made/acted with such skill that we cannot help put be captivated.

  2. El Biffo's rating of the film The Human Voice

Jean Cocteau! This made-for-UK-TV production is rather lacking in production value, and Ingrid Bergman is OK, but I would prefer to see Liv Ullman or Uma Thurman doing any of the same roles she did...But it is Cocteau, and I will watch anything by this great poet. This play has been done many times, first in 1930 by Comedie Francaise, and there is a brand-new film, starring Sophia Loren, on the festival circuit now.
