Tedious, predictable and extremely overrated. This Hollywood hunger for money turned a bad-ass chick flick premise into a trilogy (!) of four completely unnecessary movies that may be now resting in the same cemetery of bad young-adult sagas where lies Twilight.
As an action film it lacks action. As a romance it lacks romance. As a war film it lacks war. As political thriller it lacks political thrills. And so on... However, it excels in depicting an unlikeable, emotionless, and rather stupid protagonist. Katniss' lack of passion is analogous only to the film's own tone. The ending is as if Daenerys won the (hunger) game of thrones, how boring.
Could the production not afford a lighting director? Darkest entry (literally) sinks in its own pathos as the series comes to a numbing and frankly boring conclusion. The 'Mockingjay' novel probably could have supported one good three hour adaptation but at over four hours split into two films it is so over padded. Still surprised at the cheap production values from this series compared to the box office.
One of the most respectable franchises of recent years. Lawrence makes for a convincing lead in a tale that has a knack for exposing the autocracy of counter regimes against the backstory of initial dictators. From suspenseful set pieces to multifaceted character arcs, the denouement is a telling tribute to one of the most 'reprazent' examples of young adult fiction adapted to screen. Good job.
