  1. the_mentaculus's rating of the film The Incubus

So clearly has a Cassavettes influence, as if he could hide behind another camera and try something different. Yet it's still laser-focused on the vagaries and idiosyncrasies of human nature; on the disconnect between what we say and the way we say it; the inner perversities that masquerade in the telling. It just happens to be a B-movie about a particularly rapey Incubus. I think it cuts deep, on its own terms.

  2. FISCHER's rating of the film The Incubus

Un scénario complexe à souhait qui mêle créature diabolique, réincarnation, sorcellerie et autre malédiction .... sans vraiment en maîtriser tous les tenants et aboutissants. Dommage ... Une fin inattendue ..... www.cinefiches.com

  3. Samuel Donath's rating of the film The Incubus

Not too bad for the time it was made. Off beat horror flick with some interesting shots. Pretty rare to see these days.

  4. Steve G.'s rating of the film The Incubus

Enjoyable and intriguingly off-centre early 80s horror, elevated by some excellent and inventively shot death scenes and a splendid performance from John Cassevetes. A slightly disappointing final third but that final shot is superbly merciless!

  5. Joshua's rating of the film The Incubus

A dull third act redeems itself beyond the heights of the first hour, a disturbing rape-murder demon spree in a small town, with a jaw-dropping revelation. Cruel in the way slasher films should be. It's too bad 1986 had to happen...
