Alan Crosland United States, 1927

Ethan's rating of the film The Jazz Singer

There is a little more to this film than just the historical significance in the advent of sound in the cinema, this film would also set the tone for future films that dealt with the conflict between art and religion. It might be a little over the top but stylistically it flows perfectly and the music sequences are what make this film shine.
