Ratings & Reviews

  1. chanandre's rating of the film The Kiss

**[Cinémathèque PT #364: 35 mm] (2006)+[Cinémathèque PT #?: 35mm] (2017) -> 2nd viewing: Greta Garbo/Irene Guarry putting on make-up. Her facepalm as she realizes she can't possibly divorce Charles Guarry to stay with André Dubail. Extreme close-up of André with his head to his knees displaying despair.

  2. José Neves's rating of the film The Kiss

35mm. The diva in her last silent film before revealing to the world that her iconography was accompanied by an extraordinary deep voice. Feyder directs with the skill of a sensitive professional director, finding some moments of formal rapture: in the sequence in which Garbo recalls the crime facts to the police the images follow the hesitations of her narrative, creating a descriptive autonomy, like Duras later.

  3. FISCHER's rating of the film The Kiss

  4. Samuel Andrade's rating of the film The Kiss

  5. Erik Gregersen's rating of the film The Kiss

Garbo is so great that she seems to be living while everyone else is merely performing.
