30 hand picked films. A new one every day
A personal study of Japan at the time of the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, as seen through the eyes of a Japanese girl.
1965 | Winner: Out of Competition Prize (Short Films)
One of the best insights into the Japanese psyche ever captured on celluloid.
once again, a very best masterpiece of Chris Marker. Marker artistically showed a cool life-perspective sides of Japanese through koumiko's eyes. I wonder if Chris Marker inspired originally from Koumiko. I mean there's a real Koumiko...
I love the way this melancholic japanese girl questions various aspects of life, with deep involvement, honesty and grace. It all looks like an endless walk through Tokio as well as in life.
Beautifully filmed and written. This film's relatively brief length and overall content makes it a good introduction to Marker's unique world of films.
el desorden de la mente y la belleza de una de las miles de millones de mujeres del mundo
I am surprised every morning.
I am astonished how little I understand.
I cannot speak about anything.
A great film that should be properly re-issued.
