Usually horror movies are not (too) scary. Part of them seem (strangely) to be meant to make viewers have fun. I've allways found bizarre that images of murder, decapitation, torture, extreme humilliation (and much more) could be entertaining. And there is an aesthetics of violence. Some films question this. Like Haneke's Funny Games. And then this one. Won't tell you how. Death is not pretty, or fun. Killers kill.
Another charismatic serial murderer. The "you watched the tape to the end, now I have to kill you" gimmick kinda falls flat in the digital era... You have a point Mr. Psycho Killer, there is definitely something out of kilter with people (me included) who actively seek out violent and disturbing films...maybe we can have a nice chat one of these days?
