  1. Aaken's rating of the film The Left Hand of God

Middle-of-the-road drama with Bogart playing a disillusioned pilot posing a catholic priest in order to escape the grip of a Chinese warlord and former master - ludicrous Lee J. Cobb. Of course he will discover the meaning of life etc... Gene Tierney is beautiful and has nothing to do. The characters aren't developed. Maybe worth mentioning for the little song Bogart and Tierney sing together...

  2. Daniel S.'s rating of the film The Left Hand of God

*1/2. Blu-Ray. Unless you're a hardcore fan of Humphrey Bogart or Gene Tierney, you'd better skip this film. The sole interesting scenes feature Bogart swimming, singing and shooting craps. Almost instant crap.

  3. the_mentaculus's rating of the film The Left Hand of God

A rather meaty melodrama, even by Fox's '50's standards. But there's a lot of good stuff with very little gristle. Its theological concerns are on point, and I'm highly appreciative.
