Ratings & Reviews

  1. Sean Patrick Stevens's rating of the film Gotti

Travolta in a star part is always interesting to watch but he is stuck in an unfocused, scattershot poorly edited movie that never gets below the surface of the caricatures we have seen in various mob movies. The worst part is after seeing his transformation into the don in his last days you wish they just concentrated on the intimacy of that with his family instead of trying to compete with scope of GODFATHER films.

  2. Dana Henson's rating of the film Gotti

6/19/18 - Digital - Regal Bridgeport Village Stadium - It doesn't seem to matter what film he is in, Travolta always seems to try really hard. I feel slightly guilty bashing it because it is clearly a passion project for him, but there is not much to praise in this movie. It feels like a clip show of scenes from TV movies of the week about Gotti strung together into a loose narrative. It provides zero insight.

  3. Steve Pulaski's rating of the film Gotti

"Gotti" is a film lobotomized, or to put it more specifically, the result of a project eight years in development hell, with a record 41 credited producers, and no voice nor perspective whatsoever. Sure, John Travolta as the Teflon Don has some grin-inducing lines, but imagine if Martin Scorsese's "Casino" was so brutal in characterizing Lefty Rosenthal the best compliment you could pay were to De Niro's suits.
