Ratings & Reviews

  1. Anthony De Luca's rating of the film The Long Darkness

After watching this film I had to double-check the year of its release. 1972? The stylistic choices and mood are plucked right out of the latter part of Japan's golden era of cinema. At a time of Girl Gangs Gone Wild and Naughty Roman Pornos, it makes me wonder if audiences saw this merely as an odd pastiche of a cinema long long gone.

A story of sorrow, darkness and love. How is Kei Kumai not more famous ?
