30 hand picked films. A new one every day
To think that the great Robert Hamer made this sentimental, unrealistic and silly so-called thriller. It shows anyone can have a bad day, doesn't it? Not one of John Mills' greatest perfomances either. But the B&W photography is rather good.
A film as sparse as the Essex coast it's set on. The ending was perhaps a bit too pat for my liking, but good all the same.*
