Ratings & Reviews

  1. Nick Schwab's rating of the film The Mind's Eye

The Mind's Eye, a telekinesis film, just wants to explode bodies. Like his last film, Almost Human, Joe Begos is clearly a fan of mindless horror. It may have many awkward, silly moments --and has one hilarious sex scene-- but with all the over-the-top telekinetic shenanigans, this splatter-punk take on Cronenberg's Scanners may lack smarts and social-consciousness, but is still a moderately fun midnight film.

  2. Mathias Palmberg's rating of the film The Mind's Eye

This film garnered a lot of good will from me due to Steve Moores music and the obvious homages to Scanners and The Fury. It started out good but it got a bit rote since there is very little progress in story or character arcs which makes me think this would have worked better as a short. The acting was also a little off putting to be honest. Still there is cool stuff and compelling ideas here that makes it alright.
