Ratings & Reviews

  1. Corriel's rating of the film The Missing

A good and not totally conventional western with some originality. (3.5)

  2. John H. Nomedal's rating of the film The Missing

Ron Howard hasn't done anything surprisingly good since Cocoon. He´s the king of mediocre cinema and this western flick ain´t no exceptionThe story is a rescue and revenge tale sketched beyond a caricature of how a western-story is told.A watchable cast with Kate Blanchett, Aaron Eckhart,Evan Rachel Wood,Tommy Lee Jones and even Val Kilmer back in the horse saddle is nice to see although its brief.Jenna Boyd is great!

  3. Zach Closs's rating of the film The Missing

Could've been a companion piece to "Unforgiven," honestly. A director versed in classical Hollywood aesthetics approaches a grim revisionist western with powerfully self-reflexive results. Amazing performances from Blanchett and Tommy-Lee.

  4. J. O.'s rating of the film The Missing

An excellent chapter in the modern era of Western filmmaking. Mostly good turns from Blanchett and Jones (as expected), but the real surprise was Schweig's performance as the villainous Apache witch. Sappy score aside, the film's craft is of the highest calibre and certainly pays homage to classic Western filmmaking while managing to make some of its own detours.

  5. Victor-André's rating of the film The Missing

Like many people say the only guy who acts very well is the bad. I was unfortunately disappointed!!! Ohh Val Kilmer had surtenly need to pay his taxs. Already forgotten ;)

  6. Daniel S.'s rating of the film The Missing

**1/2. El Brujo, the bad guy played by Eric Schweig, is the sole interesting element of this western. Let's rather come back to John Ford's The Searchers. Already forgotten.
