To say it's one of the best films of the year is an understatement. Perhaps, The Muppet Movie deserves more. It's heart-warming, kid- and adult-audience friendly and it really can be considered feel-good! To the new generation, this is the best introduction of The Muppet Show and to those who grew up watching the show, it's a nice refresher to the show. There are good songs, dance, and also Jack Black! :)
Rewatching this, I was struck by how casually but clearly it draws a distinction between the idea of 'making it big' and 'selling out' in a fashion that might be seen as naive by modern, ad-saturated standards but nontheless manages to stay aloft on its own charm in 2013.
