Ratings & Reviews

  1. Renton47's rating of the film The Nest

Who are the backyard abortionists of the future? A neat little tie-in to his underrated Consumed. Doesn't do much with its single location/shot/subject, but identifies some core Croney topics. Obviously the invasion of the body by a parasitic entity but also our (irrational?) fear of cohabitation. Parasites as institutions of their own, the conflict arises from our static view of the self.

  2. Alp Yenibalcı's rating of the film The Nest

9 minutes synopsis of Cronenberg filmography. Potential mutation of the human body, technology and blooded.

  3. dave gunn's rating of the film The Nest

This is a great premise for a longer short, or perhaps even a full-length, but I'm not really sure why Cronenberg bothered releasing this incomplete idea. The way it was shot reminded me of fake casting couch porn.

  4. anarresti's rating of the film The Nest

Unconfortable and paranoid. Short but impressive work on the body, with the menace of something terrible about to happen. Cronenberg is good exploring obssessions with and about the human body. He is good making it feel like flesh, like it is about to be felt, in the flesh, in reality. He gives us the human body, paradoxicaly, with a sense of reality, through its obsessive, often deviant, depictions.

  5. Georg Thoma's rating of the film The Nest

    Intense movie, good acting

  6. Wee Hunk's rating of the film The Nest

Remarkable actress. I've been watching her in X-Company and she's quite good.

  7. Daniel Metcalf's rating of the film The Nest

    * Not a recent watch, updating account with films I've previously seen.

  8. João Eça's rating of the film The Nest

modest but incredible. no one shoots the body with such visceral impact
