The bits with Gena Rowlands & James Garner are great but the rest of this film is dreadful. I can't even begin to list all the things that are wrong with it. And I can't believe that John Cassavetes' son made this shlock. This apple not only fell far from the tree, it got processed into junk food. / / A side note: the screening I saw was full of old ladies wiping tears from their eyes with hankies. So there's that.
pretty good performances and decently put together but with a kind of sentiment that almost made me feel like was being exploited and the telling of the narrative through the old man's story seemed unnecessary and I was confused to whether it was supposed to be a twist at the end. Anyway, I wouldn't bother.
