Maybe this film would have been better in another director's hands as most of Gordon Hessler's movies has been enormous stinkers or lousy copies of better films. See the film for the actors and Gothic atmosphere, but not for it's story, editing or directing.
Wtf was that face? How can anyone be scared of him? :D The safe-looking kill scenes were a great source of amusement, too, but mostly the unintentional comedic elements were overshadowed by an excruciatingly sluggish pace and an unnecessarily padded story. Even Price was more toned down than usual, and Lee just looked tired/bored.
