  • D. Ash's rating of the film The Pest

Very enjoyable comedy two-reeler in which Stan Laurel appears to be aping Buster Keaton. Like Keaton, Laurel is in near-constant motion (as I watched it, I found myself wondering how many calories Laurel was burning). Lacks, though, the inventiveness and originality of Keaton's work. Highlight sees an organ grinder's monkey jump on Laurel's back while he's disguised in an animal rug.
