As with The Wolf of Wall Street, you have to take as a matter of faith the lovable rogue side of guys behind Ponzi schemes though Jan Lewan just about manages to get the benefit of the doubt here. Jack Black has never been one for nuance but does the job in a blustering way. It's not very challenging stuff but a cut above most Netflix film output.
A Minor comedy and film. Great addition to the jack black canon for his die hards. He does a good job but it’s a dark comedy or at least trying to be one and it’s not that dark nor is it trying to be one. But not necessarily offensive or anything. Would have been more essential if released in the wolf of wall st year where many a movies addressed the financial crisis in a myriad of ways
