  1. lance_vance's rating of the film The Pool

Semi actors, semi acting. The script was fabricated but the hardship was real. Was difficult to leave the characters.

  2. mpho3's rating of the film The Pool

Smith's loose adaptation of a 7-page story set in Iowa has resulted in a pleasing and gratifying neo-realist effort. Interviewed in Filmmaker, Smith says,"In the short story, the relationships became more important than the desire to swim in the pool. That sort of was the leaping off point for the film." His actors couldn't read, but it was scripted enough for them to nail the feelings. Well done all around.

  3. Rachel Tyler's rating of the film The Pool

Really enjoyed the characters and the cinematography. Truly a humble movie just about life.

  4. El Biffo's rating of the film The Pool

Very human. A sweet, simple film with no gimmicks.

  5. Weston Campbell's rating of the film The Pool

A finely-crafted film which makes its case without beating you over the head, eschewing the politics of the situation in favor of character and humanism.

  6. Mike Spence's rating of the film The Pool

This is being shown on the Sundance chanel so a DVD can't be too far off:)
