Our take

A no-holds-barred portrait of life in prison, this debut feature from director Na Hyun is a masterclass in storytelling. Light on dialogue, and with the camera explicating the action stage, The Prison finds a humanistic chemistry in its central performances from Kim Rae-won and Han Seok-Kyu.
