Ratings & Reviews

  1. AKFilmFan's rating of the film The Private Life of Don Juan

Fairbanks does good satirizing his persona in his final film performance. With a lavish Korda production, a touch of humor, and a fitting ending this is underrated light comedy.

  2. StellaWasaDiver's rating of the film The Private Life of Don Juan

Definitely the funniest of the Korda Private Lives box set from Criterion's Eclipse series. Don Juan was wonderfully risque and ribald. I didn't think Fairbanks would be fun to watch (no real grounds for this assumption, honestly) but he nailed the aging Don Juan role. His verbal jabs with Leporello were hilarious.

  3. ZYNAB's rating of the film The Private Life of Don Juan

Fairbanks’ best film is his last one, in which he plays a subversion of his screen persona as the aging, ridiculed Don Juan…this film is subtle, witty, and lightly farcical, much like a Lubitsch picture, but with a crueler edge.
