Our take

Directed by Joseph Losey and written by Dalton Trumbo, The Prowler features the type of sharp social criticism that landed Losey on the Hollywood blacklist, to which Trumbo already belonged. The film is one of the eeriest film noirs, probing sexual power relations, corruption, and class conflict.
