I really don't know how to say something without spoiling it, but anyway, the film wasn't bad for me but the father and daughter characters are way too boring and annoying. I think James Buckley is the only interesting one here. It's a could have been, but at least I don't feel like I wasted my time. 2 stars for the idea, 1 star for a specific trap inside the pyramid (too bad it didn't kill the most annoying person)
An easy movie with nothing to add to the genre. And come on, what's up with the dog-god at the end? Basic and too edited, this is just the wrong mix of half-found-footage-half-videomaking: it ruins the atmosphere - and let's face it: a found footage horror located inside a lost pyramid with egyptian gods sounds very cool. Too bad it is not accomplished - in here, true horror can only be found on the acting skills.
2+. pretty nice for American horror ! the basic script is not very smart (but come on, look at the usual blockbusters...I mean The Martian and co) but once in the deep pyramid, it's quite oppressive and efficient, like the pretty cool "As Above, So Below" last year. And references to old civilizations and Traditions is always more welcomed than crappy modern (american) found footages
