Put one fallen action combat hero together with an old retired British charming adventurer. It is actually the only good idea in the entire film. What happened to all those street kids that Van Damme seemed to be such pals with and he planned to visit later? Stupid editing and boring fights.
In '96, Van Damme - at the peak of his Hollywood clout - co-wrote, directed, and starred in "The Quest." The creative endeavor must have been a strain on the movie star's considerable talents, as his character feels conspicuously absent for much of the film. Fortunately, he was savvy enough to hire Randy Edelman for score duty and Roger Moore in a supporting role, while showcasing a bevy of topnotch martial artists.
