John Pogue United States, 2014

Lights in the Dusk's rating of the film The Quiet Ones

Tired repeat of the 'research scientists gathered together to expose the paranormal' motif that's been around for decades but seems to have flourished since the recent found-footage renaissance. Pogue's film can't seem to decide if it even wants to be found-footage or something more conventional; but it also can't decide if it wants to be a serious study on obsession/delusion or a garish bit of effects-laden schlock.
