Weird, hilarious and beautifully ethnic - I loved it. The characters, particularly the cat, were endearingly flawed and voiced wonderfully. As for the story, well, it has an unorthodox structure, with episodes strung together without a lot of urgency and a lot of discussions that might be lost on non-jewish/muslim folk. It did nail the deserty oriental vibe and the music was splendid.
Beautifully animated film about a Rabbi and his talking cat. While the movie features some wonderful characters (the Sufi Sfar cousin, the Rabbi himself and obviously his cat) and hilarious episodes (the Belgian reporter for example) it sometimes feels a bit jumbled or confused (from inter-religious convos in Algiers to roadtrip to Russian/African love marriage...). All in all however, it's a wonderful little film!
