The Rise and Fall of Emily Sprod from 1962 is one of the lesser-seen of Bob Godfrey’s films. Deliberately incoherent, it’s a good example of how proto-Gilliam Godfrey’s work could get; at times it resembles a kind of Monty Python version of Yellow Submarine, despite predating both.
