I watched this literally only because I inexplicably think Fredric March is a superbabe (and it certainly did not disappoint on that front) but I ended up being more INTELLECTUALLY fascinated by Warner Baxter. I've only seen him in this and 42nd Street and both times he's played these amazing characters that are twisted, neurotic, and self-loathing in a way that shifts the whole film's center of gravity.
