If this movie didn't have the long-running, impossibly to resist fun tradition it does, it would only get 2 or 3 stars from me. By itself, this movie isn't very good. Granted, Time Warp and Touch-a Touch-a Touch Me are legitimately great numbers, but the rest of the film by itself is dull. The self-emergent traditions make the movie more than it could have been on its own. Also...Tim Curry made me his bitch.
Everyone has to experience this film at least once in their life. However you can't simply sit down, pop it into the TV and watch this film by yourself. In order to fully appreciate The Rocky Horror Picture Show you have to see it in a packed theater surrounded by people who are singing a long to it, throwing rice and dancing to the time warp. I go see this at the Palace every year and there is nothing quite like it!
