Sarajevo lived through the longest siege in modern history. “The Siege” is a film about those who lived through it, about the human experience of the besieged. Through and beyond Sarajevo, it is the story of a surrounded city, of a battle and resistance. It describes a vertiginous descent into war.

  • Superfrog's rating of the film The Siege

Basic in form, not covering the besieger motivations. The theme of people just wanting to defend their mode of life against nationalism works, as well as the description of the motivations for resistance, not forgetting lack of alternative. The format of edited experiences and testimonies is fine if prone to abuse, no trace of questions and no group discussing viewpoints.
