Ratings & Reviews

  1. Genre films > French New Wave's rating of the film The Sorcerers

Repetitious in the beginning and shoddily made, but the acting is surprisingly good (specifically by Catherine Lacey as the crazed wife). It gets even better as it goes along, ending in an appropriate and well done bleak ending.

  2. Nick Schwab's rating of the film The Sorcerers

Blasé in the way it treats its chilling premise of mind control without much urgency or a sense of a true threat for most of its run time. While the next year, Reeves would ultimately deliver one of the best horror films of the 1960's, and his masterpiece, with Witchfinder General, but The Sorcerers takes too long to treat its premise as horror. There's too much buildup to the inevitable. A film ripe for a remake.

  3. Denis Zordan's rating of the film The Sorcerers
