Ratings & Reviews

  1. Diderot's rating of the film The Story of Mankind

Plays like a parody of White Western Kitsch Nonsense (and would be, if it wasn't such nonsense itself), all the way down to a celebration of Abraham Lincoln "freeing the slaves" with no black person in sight. An exemplum of Ameri-Christian idiocy, not even saved by Peter Lorre as Nero or Harpo Marx as Isaac Newton.

  2. Christopher R. Smith's rating of the film The Story of Mankind

Pretty hokey Irwin Allen production is made moderately entertaining by a cavalcade of old-time celebrity cameos, as well as another delightfully sardonic performance by Vincent Price. Cheesy and heavy-handed in its blatantly obvious messages, but it has its moments.
