You have to dig a bit to find the film's real gem, but what you dig through is pretty nice too, and I'd rather dig with a spoon than be spoon-fed.

  8. José Neves's rating of the film The Sun in a Net

4,5. (35mm) In the distance, i detect in the avant-garde films "from the East" a kind of obligation to "make poetry" that somehow prevent me from joining them completely. But, on the other hand, and in this magnificent case in particular, its narrative distension and significant disjunction is so actuating, that, at least, i stand before as an act of revolution. And what wonderful actors!

A damn great film that completely revises all my previously held notions of 60s cinema and everything that has come after.

  12. Worm's rating of the film The Sun in a Net

Probably a 3.5/5. As you might have heard, the imagery and photography is great. A handful of scenes are touching, beautiful and effective but the combined whole makes for a relatively small experience.
