  1. MarianneRenoir's rating of the film The Sunshine Boys

    - How do you like that? Sol Burton died. - Who? - Sol Burton, songwriter. 89 years old, and he went just like that, from nothing. You know what kind of songs he wrote? Shit. Lady, lady, be my baby. "Lady" rhymes with "baby." No wonder he's dead.

  2. SpacePirate's rating of the film The Sunshine Boys

I enjoyed the chemistry of Burns and Matthau here. Feels like a precursor to Grumpy Old Men at times. Drags a bit at times, but has some very warm and funny moments sprinkled throughout to keep your interest. Worth a look

  3. Jaspar Lamar Crabb's rating of the film The Sunshine Boys

Walter Matthau chews the scenery like nobody else in the world (save perhaps Peter O'Toole)

  4. Christopher R. Smith's rating of the film The Sunshine Boys

Despite the talent involved, an underwhelming rendition of the Neil Simon play. Once they finally get going, Walter Matthau and George Burns hit a great comic stride. But Herbert Ross' placid direction makes what should be snappy repartee a series of annoying yelling matches. A disappointment.
