Ratings & Reviews

  1. Lucas Granero's rating of the film The Text of Light

  2. José Neves's rating of the film The Text of Light

16mm, rewatched. This is the title that is a metonymy of this filmmaker's work, being also a film that is materially conceived as a symphony of light and colors' spectrum - there were already Len Lye, Fischinger, Mary Ellen Bute, Jordan Belson, Robert Breer or McLaren, for example, but this exclusively iconic dimension in absolute self-giving is of the order, if not of the unheard, at least of the very impressive .

  3. AlexanderKR's rating of the film The Text of Light

I mostly appreciate Brakhage on the level that I appreciate Pollock. It looks nice - like a garden. His personal meanings and methods are frosting that I might pick at once in a while, but for me this is mostly just an aesthetic experience.

  4. Low's rating of the film The Text of Light

"Cinema is the music of light" as old Abel Gance said.
