  3. captainfez's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

All the excitement of family holiday films now with the extra sass of Communism.

  4. Slappy McGee's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

(2.5 stars) I was completely uninterested in this topic and this doc did nothing to interest me. The home movie aspect of it was interesting (as I'm always a bit curious seeing old footage of things)... but too much non-story for me to get involved in. If you are really into the topic of Communism and the politics of this period, then you might enjoy this film. Not much for me to enjoy, however.

  5. El Biffo's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

I love home movies and these are really GREAT HOME MOVIES! I didn't even need the narration to appreciate how beautiful they are. In fact, watching the subtitles takes my eyes away from the amazing images.

  6. .fsilva.'s rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

não consigo achar isto nada de especial. a montagem é tão fraca. tudo tão superficial. triste.

  7. David Sindmark Hörnfeldt's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

  8. panagiotatos's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

6,5/10, something is missing here - could be images, could be words - to give to this documentary about the disillusionment due to the demise of the socialistic ideal, a coherent and clear narrative. Interesting still as a colorful painting of a lost era, of a lost world.

  9. DrFirestone's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

A personal journey back in time, that somehow manages to balance between a documentary and very subjective and intimate storytelling. It manages to convey the romantic spirit of the communist revolution, while maintaining some distance to get a broader view on the reality of those days. At times it feels fragmented - but this is due to it's very nature. A nostalgic, personal, bitter sweet travel down memory lane.

  10. Monkey Flix's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

There's some very good stuff in here, but also a lot of filler. It needs to be more tightly edited. Could probably be a very strong documentary at half the length.

  12. pablo.veyrat's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

Superficial, and focused in showing grandpa's old footage (of questionable quality) rather than in articulating a narrative. 20 minutes would have sufficed.

  13. mgaspa's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

Un documento impresionante y imprescindible para entender una epoca y una ilusion.

  14. Paul VanKoughnett's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

A long time ago, in a very distant world...

  17. Bernardo Anderson's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

An interesting and beautifully done documentary on a journey, both physically and personally. This is a really great time capsule with gorgeous found footage of Italy at the time.

  18. Jean A. Vachon's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

  19. Stefan Drees's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia

Communism in Italy is a very complex phenomenon with many facettes. Although the film shows only one of these facettes, thanks to the montage of significant and unique historical material and the careful spoken commentaries it is an important documentary.

  20. tinderness's rating of the film The Train to Moscow: A Journey to Utopia
