  1. Michael Peer's rating of the film The Turning Point

1977 was one hell of a year for Herbert Ross who had his other film - The Goodbye Girl - also nominated for best picture. The Turning Point is beautiful to look and listen to. The cast is wonderful and performances are top-notch. Nonetheless, time has not been kind to this film. One of the more forgettable Best Picture nominees from the 70s, I'm very happy that this didn't win - in fact - it didn't win any Oscars.

  4. Caro_its's rating of the film The Turning Point

I've really loved the ballet scenes: Black Swan, Swan Lake, Aurora's Wedding, Anna Karenina... Shirley MacLaine & Anne Bancroft are great and I like the fact that the movie talked about the life for women after their dance careers.

  5. Christian R.'s rating of the film The Turning Point

this movie makes Black Swan look like a porno....it's so ballet-like!

  6. Bijoux Alexanderplatz's rating of the film The Turning Point

Herbert Ross had quite a year. I think one of the strengths of this film is that when the end credits rolled, I wasn't sure how I felt about each of the characters. I'm still pondering.
