What are people saying?

  • Junda Mane's rating of the film The Viral Factor

More hard-hitting action from Lam. Nicholas Tse is reliable as ever, the same can't be said about Jay Chou though. Thankfully the action is of his usual high standards & the plot (though convoluted) is pretty captivating. A solid thriller from one of Hong Kong's finest action directors.

  • Nick Schwab's rating of the film The Viral Factor

The action runs out of energy in its 2-hour runtime, but as much a fine auteur of action scenes that Lam is otherwise, his weaving of drama within acute characterization, involving emotionally damaged and/or flawed characters, is exemplary. This is his big-budget Hollywood-esque epic film, and it's everything that I wished Nolan's Batman films or any Michael Bay film was: a nuanced mix of popcorn action and fervor.
