A really bizarre adaptation, bearing not much resemblance to the story. The real problem here isnt a Dorothy twice the age of the part, or the fact that so many changes were made, its just that Semon himself is about as funny as a hernia. Worth checking out only for an early Oliver Hardy appearance thats not a two reeler
1925 feature version concentrates more on slapstick and the hijinks of the scarecrow, 'tin man', and lion without a wicked witch in sight. Entertaining enough with just enough of the Baum novel to qualify as an adaptation but oh so many modifications made. Borderline racsist at times with a Dorothy far too old for the part. Never boring though.
