Ratings & Reviews

  1. Rosina Rossini's rating of the film The Wrong Box

A favourite of mine. Sound editing is really terrible though. During train wreck scene, there's a pitiful 4-5 second track of a woman screaming that's been looped over and over again underneath the dialogue. Newman and Caine were tremendous in taking the mickey out of sexually repressed British culture, and their farcical romantic Victorian slow-mo sequence is my favourite!

  2. Aardsy's rating of the film The Wrong Box

All the British misunderstandings and antics!

  3. Stephen Campbell's rating of the film The Wrong Box

Peter Sellers and Wilfred Lawson steal the film from everybody with effortless performances while every one else is trying to hard.

  4. 3eyes's rating of the film The Wrong Box

Based on a short novel which Robert Louis Stevenson and his cousin wrote in their teens. A deliciously improbable cast hamming it up, with Wilfrid Lawson stealing every scene he is in.

  5. Daniel S.'s rating of the film The Wrong Box

This kind of production always makes me wonder whether the audience was really doubling up when it was theatrically released. THE WRONG BOX is a slapstick comedy (with inserts) that could have been shot in the 20's. It's really funny at times (the train scene, Peter Sellers as Dr. Pratt) but you have to appreciate British humour... Recommended.

  6. Roscoe's rating of the film The Wrong Box

Some fine moments of inspired silliness, but not everybody is up to it.
