Ratings & Reviews

  1. Christopher M. Jones's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

like all of these movies it is impossible to keep track of who anyone is or what they are doing and why but is worth recommending just by virtue of its rude fuckin attitude

  2. Nick Potter's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

Having some familiarity with the characters beforehand helped this film flow a bit smoother, and the addition of Sonny Chiba certainly didn't go unnoticed. I can only hope the series continues the pace.

  3. David R Williams's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

More hyperkinetic Yakuza violence. The fight scenes look like someone took all the versions of the 3 Stooges, cloned them a couplefew times, feed them sugar and let them go. This is not a bad thing. Looking forward to the next three episodes. Great bad cinema.

  4. Hao Wang's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

The film captured the essence of Japanese culture and chaos after WW2.

  5. Steve McGee's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

Meiko Kaji shows some great emotional acting in this one. More brutal exposition of selfish bosses and the loyal fools who get crushed by them.

  6. dAlton Anthony's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

  7. the_mentaculus's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

While I do not personally think this is a better film than the first, I understand why it's a regular favorite: Chiba's Stray Dog, overcompensating by swinging around his oversized, um, sword; Kitaoji has a full, one-movie arc; and Meiko Kaji. In a series dominated by men and a radioactive, mutating masculinity, Kaji is the series' only strong female lead, and this means she stands at the top of the (dung) heap.

  8. Sebastian Reetz's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

Even better than the first. The Yakamata story is great!

  9. ermete polpette's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

  10. Slappy McGee's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

The series is ramping up and the director has a much better hold of narrative in this film. The story is MUCH more cohesive in this installment. Manic fight scenes are wild and crazy. Good entertainment. Interested to see where this series goes.

  11. film_lies101's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

I didn't find the lead in this as compelling or charming as Bunta Sugawara. This does Meiko Kaji though, so it's a bit of a fair trade off

  12. Samuel Andrade's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

★★★★ for some yakuza, a girl and a gun can be the worst way up.

  13. Alan Ongaro's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

  14. Christopher's rating of the film The Yakuza Papers 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima

What a raw, raunchy film. Muraoka is a piece of shit. Hirono is still bad ass.
