Alex Cox United Kingdom, 1998

Lights in the Dusk's rating of the film Three Businessmen

An amiable, leisurely paced, low-budget satire that is difficult to classify & even more difficult to define. Cox's direction lacks urgency, energy & even style, but the film is nonetheless carried along by the genial rapport between the central characters & their on-going discussions on the nature of life & civilisation at the end of the twentieth century. The entire film could be described as a kind of cosmic joke.
